Cierco gets rights for 200 MW floating wind in the Celtic Sea (UK)

Cierco Energy has secured seabed rights from The Crown Estate for the 200 MW Llŷr floating offshore wind demonstration projects in the Celtic Sea off Wales in the United Kingdom (Cierco Energy, 30/07/2026). The two projects are planned off the Pembrokeshire coast, with construction expected to begin in 2027. Once commissioned, the projects should power up to 200,000 homes and will serve as a testbed for floating wind technologies, supporting the development of future large-scale offshore wind projects in the region.

The UK plans to raise offshore wind capacity to 50 GW by 2030 (15 GW by the end of 2025).
