China’s CTG commissions an 800 MW offshore wind project in Jiangsu

China Three Gorges (CTG) has commissioned an 800 MW phase of the Rudong offshore wind plant in the Jiangsu province (eastern China). These 200 4 MW wind turbines have been connected to the grid and will generate 2.4 TWh/year.

In December 2021, CTG started operating two offshore wind projects totalling 800 MW (the 400 MW Shapa II project in Yangjiang and the 400 MW Rudong H6 project in Jiangsu).

China’s offshore wind capacity stood at 19.7 GW by end-2021. Around 17 GW of offshore wind projects were commissioned in 2021. The country’s wind capacity reached 328 GW by end-2021, with more than 47 GW of projects entering commercial operations during the year.
