Cheniere (US) and Pertamina (Indonesia) sign 20-Year LNG contract

Cheniere Energy has entered into a liquefied natural gas (LNG) sale and purchase agreement (SPA) with Pertamina, Indonesia's oil and gas company, under which Pertamina has agreed to purchase approximately 0.8 Mt/year of LNG upon the commencement of operations from the LNG export facility being developed near Corpus Christi, Texas (United States). The Corpus Christi Liquefaction Project is being designed and permitted for up to three trains, with aggregate design production capacity of 13.5 Mt/year of LNG and should be commissioned in 2018. Under the SPA, Pertamina will purchase LNG for a purchase price indexed to the monthly Henry Hub price plus a fixed component. The SPA has a term of twenty years commencing upon the date of first commercial delivery (expected in 2018) and an extension option of up to ten years. Pertamina will regasify LNG at its Arun terminal, where a liquefaction train is currently being converted into a regasification train (Arun 7 LNG project).
