The Spanish renewable energy investing company Bruc has signed a €600m financing agreement to raise funds for the construction of 8.5 GW of solar PV and wind power projects in Spain. Seven entities, namely Banco Santander, ING, Instituto de Credito Oficial, BNP Paribas, Intesa Sanpaolo, Schroders Capital and Infranity, have extended the financing. The financing also includes wind and solar hybrid schemes. The projects will be located in the Spanish regions of Aragon, Andalusia, Extremadura, Castile-La Mancha and Castile and Leon. Bruc will also develop several renewable energy storage projects.
As of end 2022, Spain had 20.5 GW of solar installed capacity and more than 29 GW of wind capacity. The draft update of the NECP 2021-2030 targets an installed capacity of 76 GW of solar PV, 62 GW of wind, 4.8 GW of solar CSP and 22 GW of storage by 2030.
