Spanish renewable energy investor Bruc has secured financing from a consortium of banks to develop 659 MW of solar capacity combined with 1.6 GWh of integrated battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Spain’s Aragon region (Bruc statement, 29/05/2026).
The financing package amounts to EUR370m and has been provided by Spanish banks Banco Santander and Banco Sabadell to support the construction of the projects under a green loan structure.
Bruc expects the projects to enter commercial operation in 2027. Once online, they are projected to generate enough electricity to cover the annual consumption needs of approximately 321,000 households. According to the company, all solar-plus-storage facilities included in the portfolio will operate under power purchase agreements (PPAs) signed with leading off-takers.
