Brookfield Asset Management and Foxconn (Hon Hai Technology Group) have established a strategic partnership to develop up to 1 GW of utility-scale wind, solar, and battery storage capacity in Vietnam (Foxconn press release, 09/06/2026).
Underpinned by long-term power purchase agreements, both parties expect to collaborate on the investment and asset management of targeted projects, with the buildout specifically intended to supply stable and cost-effective power to Foxconn’s Vietnamese operations and its broader supply chain. Brookfield’s stake in the venture is planned to be financed through its Catalytic Transition Fund, which invests in renewable energy solutions in emerging markets.
According to Enerdata’s Global Energy Research, Vietnam’s renewable installed capacity stood at 49 GW at the end of 2025, which represents around 55% of its total capacity and its goal is for renewables to reach 75% of its capacity by 2050.
