Brazil's Petrobras sells a 333 kb/d refinery in Bahia to Mubadala (UAE)

The Brazilian national oil and gas company Petrobras has completed the sale of the Landulpho Alves Refinery (RLAM) and its associated logistical assets in Brazil, to MC Brazil Downstream Participações, an affiliate of the Mubadala Investment Company, the Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) sovereign wealth fund, for US$1.8bn. RLAM, located in São Francisco do Conde in the state of Bahia, has a processing capacity of 333,000 bbl/d (14% of Brazil's total oil refining capacity), and its assets include four storage terminals and a set of 669 km of pipelines connecting the refinery and terminals.

In addition, Petrobras has signed contracts with SBM Offshore for the chartering and provision of services of the FPSO Alexandre de Gusmão, the 4th definitive system to be installed in the Mero field in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin. The floating production, storage, and oil (FPSO) transfer unit will be installed approximately 160 km from Arraial do Cabo, in Rio de Janeiro, is expected to start production in 2025, and will process up to 180 kb/d of oil and 12 mcm/d of gas. The contracts will last for 22 years and 6 months from the unit's final acceptance.
