Bosnia-Herzegovina awards concession to wpd for 264 MW of wind projects

The local government of Canton 10 in Bosnia-Herzegovina has awarded a concession to Vjetroelektrane Dah Planine, a local subsidiary of Germany’s renewable company wpd, for the construction of two wind power plants with a combined installed capacity of 264 MW.

Vjetroelektrane Dah Planine will build the 138 MW Čadilj wind project in the Glamoč municipality and the 126 MW Marino Brdo wind project in the municipality of Bosansko Grahovo.

In 2021, wind represented 3% of Bosnia-Herzegovina’s installed capacity, with 135 MW, and only 1.5% of its power generation, with 262 GWh.

Canton 10 is one of the ten cantons of the Bosnian Federation, which is one of the two constituent entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina (alongside the Serb Republic).
