The BOEM releases impact study for Ørsted's Ocean Wind offshore project (US)

The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has released a draft environmental impact statement (DEIS) for the proposed 1.1 GW Ocean Wind 1 offshore wind project in the state of New Jersey (United States).

The DEIS analyses the potential environmental impacts of the proposed action described in Ocean Wind’s project plan for constructing and operating an offshore wind energy facility.

The Ocean wind 1 project is jointly developed by Ørsted (75%) and Public Service Enterprise Group (PSEG, 25%). Commercial operations are expected to start by the end of 2024. Ørsted is also developing the Ocean Wind 2 project (1.1 GW) off the coast of New Jersey. The United States target 30 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2030.
