The German Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur or BNetzA) launched the third tender for onshore wind power facilities with a bidding deadline set for 2 November 2017. The previous tenders took place in May and August 2017.
For this bidding period, the maximum bid will be €7ct/kWh, as in the 2017 first two rounds. The bids with the lowest amount will be awarded until the volume of the respective tender round is reached.
The current tender amount has been set at 1,000 MW, of which 430.55 MW in the so called "network expansion area", which comprises major parts of North Germany. In order to take part in the auction, the proposed projects must have been approved in accordance with the Federal Pollution Control Act (Bundesimmissionsschutzgesetz).
In both previous onshore wind rounds (May and August 2017), the maximum bid was also set at €7c/kWh. In the second round (August 2017), the average surcharge stood at €4.28c/kWh while it reached €5.71c/kWh in the May 2017 round. In May and August 2017, the highest accepted bid values reached €4.29c/kWh and €5.78c/kWh respectively.
