Bhopal's Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd. PPA's signed (India)

Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) have been signed regarding the electricity which will be produced by the 750 MW Rewa Ultra Mega Solar (RUMS) Power Project in Bhopal, India. The facility will be operated by Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL), a joint venture of Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam (MPUVN).



The power will be bought by the Delhi Metro Railways Corporation and the Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company. The first year tariff has been set at Rs2.97 (US$5c) per unit of power and the levelized tariff will reach Rs3.3 (US$5c) over the 25 years of the contract.



The project which will be the largest in India, overtakes the 648 MW Kamathi solar park in Tamil Nadu and will be developed in three segments of 250 MW over 1,500 hectares of land. The project will be located in the state of Madya Pradesh and could be commissioned as soon as late 2018. It will require investments of US$860m (Rs7.6crore/MW or US$1.15m/MW).
