Avantus and Clean Power Alliance (CPA) have signed a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA) for the Rexford 2 solar and storage project in Tulare County, California (United States) (Avantus press release, 13/07/2026). The Rexford 2 consists of 200 MW of solar capacity and a 200 MW/800 MWh BESS connected to the California grid and is scheduled to start construction works in 2027 to become operational in late 2028. The PPA should start its effective period starting May 2029. Avantus plans to own and operate the project, which once operational should generate enough electricity to power 84,000 homes.
Avantus mainly operates in the US states of California, Nevada and Arizona, where it has a development portfolio of about 13 GW of solar and 44 GWh of storage. By 2030, the company plans to bring 5 GW of new renewable capacity to the grid.
