Australian provider of mid-scale LNG infrastructure Australasia LNG (AALNG) has awarded KBR a pre-front end engineering and design (FEED) study for a proposed LNG regasification terminal and truck loading distribution facilities in Probolinggo, East Java, Indonesia.
The pre-FEED study will focus on the onshore LNG regasification and truck loading distribution facilities and will be further developed for additional phases to meet a regasification capacity of 3 Mt/year (4.1 bcm/year). The terminal could potentially be expanded by adding more LNG regasification trains and LNG storage to meet future demands in the East Java region.
In addition to this East Java project, AALNG is considering mid-scale onshore regasification terminals in Batam and in Bagan Datoh, a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) in Bali, and another FSRU in Pulau Jarak (Malaysia).
