Atmos Renewables has completed the acquisition of a portfolio of renewable energy projects in Australia from BayWa r.e., bringing its combined operating and under-construction capacity to more than 2 GW (Atmos Renewables press release, 16/10/2026). “The acquisition increases Atmos’ operational portfolio to 19 wind, solar and BESS assets and lifts its operating and in-construction capacity beyond 2GW, placing it among Australia’s larger renewable energy owner-operators” said the company.
The portfolio includes:
- Two operational solar parks: Yatpool Solar Park (106 MW) and Hughenden Solar Park (20 MW).
- The Bullawah wind park project in New South Wales (NSW, 800 MW), which is at an advanced stage of development and incorporates a 359 MW/718 MWh battery energy storage system. Transmission access rights have also been secured in the South West Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) for the project’s 262 MW Stage 2 component.
- A collection of earlier-stage projects located across the National Electricity Market (NEM).
Earlier in October 2026, Atmos Renewables, alongside its parent company Igneo Infrastructure Partners, reached financial close on two energy projects supported by the Australian Government’s Capacity Investment Scheme. These comprise the Parron Maam Marang wind park (470 MW) in Western Australia (WA) and the Teebar Battery Energy Storage System (BESS; 400 MW/1.6 GWh) in Queensland.
