Argentina’s state-owned oil and gas company YPF has signed a MOU with India's Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (OIL), Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL), and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Videsh (OVL) for the export of LNG with an estimated target of up to 10 Mt/year. The Indian companies have signed the deal to export gas from the Argentina LNG project. The agreement also includes cooperation on lithium and other critical minerals as well as the exploration and production of hydrocarbons.
Argentina LNG is gas liquefaction project designed for export to world markets, with a first phase of 10 Mt/year. It includes the production of gas in dedicated blocks in Vaca Muerta, its transportation through dedicated gas pipelines of 580 km in length to a processing and liquefaction terminal that will be built in Sierra Grande, Rio Negro, on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean.
