American Electric Power (AEP) has reported 2025 full-year revenues of USD21.9bn, up from USD19.7bn (+11%) in 2024 (AEP press release, 12/02/2026).
“AEP continues to expand its large load customer base, with signed agreements for an additional 28 GW of load since last October, bringing the incremental demand to 56 GW of new load by 2030. Load in AEP Texas alone has increased from 13 GW to 36 GW all backed by signed letters of agreement with well-capitalized hyperscalers and mega-sized data center developers”, according to the company’s press release.
AEP is developing various generation solutions to meet rising load demand. In 2025, its operating companies acquired 2.2 GW of new generation resources for immediate capacity in high-growth areas. AEP has also secured more than 10 GW of gas turbine capacity from manufacturers.
AEP is also a major electricity producer in the United States with approximately 31 GW of diverse owned and contracted generating capacity.
The company plans to invest USD12bn in CAPEX in 2026, and a total of USD72bn from 2026 through 2030.
