ADNOC (UAE) and SEFE (Germany) sign HoA for 1 Mt/year of LNG

The Emirati company ADNOC has signed a 15-year Long-Term Heads of Agreement to supply Germany’s SEFE with 1 Mt/year of LNG from the Ruwais LNG project, located in the Abu Dhabi Emirate (United Arab Emirates). The deliveries are expected to start in 2028, upon commencement of the facility’s commercial operations. The agreement is contingent upon a final investment decision (FID) on the project, including regulatory approvals, and the negotiation of a definitive Sale and Purchase Agreement between the two companies.

This is the second long-term LNG supply agreement from the Ruwais LNG project, following the 15-year agreement signed between ADNOC and China’s ENN Natural Gas in December 2023.

Once completed, the Ruwais project, which consists of two 4.8 Mt/year LNG liquefaction trains with a total capacity of 9.6 Mt/year, will more than double ADNOC’s LNG production capacity to help meet increased global demand for natural gas.
