ADNOC selects contractor to maintain oil output at Umm Shaif field (UAE)

The state-owned oil company of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has awarded a US$946m engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the development of the Umm Shaif field to National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC). The scope of the award covers engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning activities required to maintain Umm Shaif’s crude oil production capacity at 275,000 bbl/d, increase efficiencies and enhance the field’s long-term potential. The EPC contract is expected to be completed in 2025.

The Umm Shaif's field started exporting oil in 1962. The United Arab Emirates produced 3.6 mb/d of crude oil and NGL in 2020 (-8%).
