ADNOC Gas, the integrated gas processing unit of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), has awarded US$1.34bn in contracts to Petrofac and a consortium of the National Petroleum Construction Company and CAT International to expand by around 300 km its 3,200 km-long gas pipeline network in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). A new gas compression plant will also be built in Habshan and the expansion project is expected to raise gas transportation to the Northern Emirates of the UAE.
ADNOC Gas became operational in January 2023, grouping together the operations of ADNOC Gas Processing, ADNOC LNG and ADNOC Industrial Gas. It sold 5% of its share through an IPO in March 2023. The company has access to 95% of the UAE's gas reserves and supplies over 60% of the country's gas consumption.
