ADNOC awards US$860m EPC contract for Das Island gas facilities (UAE)

Emirati state-run Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has awarded an AED3.16bn (US$860m) engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to the joint venture of Technicas Reunida and Target Engineering Construction Company for the construction and commissioning of new gas facilities on Das Island (United Arab Emirates). The contract is part of the second phase of the Integrated Gas Development Expansion (IGD-E) project.

The new facilities comprise a new 60 mcf/d (1.7 mcm/d) booster compression train and two amine-based fuel gas treatment units with 80 mcf/d each (2.2 mcm/d). The project is expected to be completed in 54 months and will see an additional 245 mcf/d (6.9 mcm/d) of associated gas to the 1.4 bcf/d (39.6 mcm/d) of offshore gas sent from Das Island to ADNOC Habshan gas processing facilities.

The first phase of the IGD-E project was completed in August 2018 and expanded ADNOC's offshore gas processing capacity by 400 mcf/d (11.3 mcm/d) to 1.4 bcf/d (39.6 mcm/d).
