Adani Green commissions a 750 MW wind-solar hybrid plant in India

Adani Green Energy, a subsidiary of Indian conglomerate Adani Group, has commissioned a 750 MW co-located wind-solar hybrid power plant in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, western India. The interstate transmission system (ISTS) connected power plant has a 25-year power purchase agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) at a tariff of INR2.69/kWh (US$3c/kWh). The plant comprises 600 MW of solar and 150 MW of onshore wind power capacity.

In May 2022, Adani Green Energy already commissioned India’s first hybrid power plant with a capacity of 390 MW, also located in Jaisalmer. In 2021, solar and wind accounted for nearly 20% of installed capacity in India, with respectively 49 GW and 40 GW. The country aims to develop 175 GW of renewable capacity by the end of 2022, including 100 GW of solar.
