ACWA Power secures site for 500 MW solar + BESS project in the Philippines

ACWA Power Philippines, a subsidiary of the Saudi-based ACWA Power, has secured a site to develop an integrated utility-scale solar and BESS facility with a capacity of up to 500 MW within New Clark City, Tarlac, in the Philippines (ACWA Power press release, 02/06/2026).  The company has signed a contract of lease with the Filipino Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) for a 500-ha site.

The project represents an initial investment of at least USD400m, although its final capacity is still subject to modifications for the final design, regulatory approvals, and future expansion phases. Once completed, the facility is expected to provide round-the-clock clean electricity to data centers and advanced manufacturing tenants moving into the special economic zone of New Clark City.

The Philippines targets to raise its share of renewables in the national power mix by 2030 to 35%.
