Indian conglomerate ACME Group has signed an investment agreement with Oman’s Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones covering the second and third expansion phases of its green hydrogen and green ammonia project in Duqm, Oman (Omani government press release, 10/06/2026).
The OMR1.6bn (USD4.2bn) project has two expansion phases, with each phase aiming to produce 400 kt/year of green ammonia and 71 kt/year of green hydrogen. Following the completion of both phases, cumulative production capacity expects to total 800 kt/year of green ammonia and 142 kt/year of green hydrogen. Commercial operations should begin in 2030 for Phase 2 and 2033 for Phase 3, following the delivery of 80 MW of hydrogen production systems by Shuangliang Group for Phase 1 earlier in 2026.
The project aligns with Oman’s green hydrogen strategy to produce 1 to 1.25 Mt/year of green hydrogen by 2030 (Enerdata’s Global Energy Research).
