Qualitas Energy has announced an agreement to finance the construction of a 211 MW BESS portfolio in Italy (Qualitas Energy press release, 26/05/2026). In partnership with ACL Energy, an independent energy infrastructure developer, the agreement covers two projects located in Lombardy and Apulia. ACL Energy is the owner of the projects, while Qualitas Energy will provide financing for the minority shareholder’s equity.
The projects, which require both four-hour and eight-hour battery storage systems, will be operated under 15-year revenue agreements secured through Italy’s Capacity Market and MACSE storage auctions. The financing will support the portfolio throughout its construction, commissioning, and operation, with capital released in line with the achievement of specific construction milestones.
Qualitas Energy has previously supported the financing of renewable energy assets across Europe, including Germany, Poland, Spain, and Italy.
