Acciona's 1,026 MW MacIntryre wind project enters construction in Australia

Acciona Energía has started the construction of the 1,026 MW MacIntyre onshore wind project, with an associated investment of AUD2bn (US$1.4bn), in Queensland (Australia). The MacIntyre project consists of two wind parks, namely MacIntyre (923MW), owned by Acciona Energía (70%) and Ark Energy (30%), where the construction works have kicked off; and Karara (103 MW), owned by Queensland’s public utility CleanCo, which will also operate it. The two wind plants will use 180 Nordex Delta 4000 turbines rated 5.7 MW each. Acciona Energía will operate the MacIntyre wind farm, which will be the company’s largest wind farm in the world and will triple its renewable production capacity in Australia. Construction of the wind complex is expected to be completed in 2024.
