AB Energy USA has secured approximately 2 GW of power generation capacity for five on-site data centre projects in Texas and Oklahoma, in the United States (AB Energy USA press release, 28/09/2026). The secured capacity will be supplied through AB Energy’s ECOMAX modular generation units equipped with INNIO Jenbacher gas engines. The projects are intended to provide on-site power for data centres and include the integration of cooling solutions using absorption chillers that recover residual heat from the engines to produce chilled water.
Several of the projects have been developed in partnership with Eradeh Power Consulting, a technical advisory company focused on AI and hyperscale data centre power systems. According to the company, Eradeh contributed load-side engineering expertise, including the assessment of step loads, ramp rates and voltage transients, for behind-the-meter and islanded power configurations.
Some of the projects will also incorporate BESS and other technologies to increase operational flexibility. The company also stated that it has secured the equipment required for the current 2 GW portfolio and is arranging additional unit availability to support expected demand from data centre customers over the coming years.
