Yunneng Wind Power has announced the 640 MW Yunlin offshore wind park has officially entered full commercial operation (Taiwan). Yunneng is a joint venture comprising Germany’s Skyborn Renewables, France’s TotalEnergies, Thailand’s Electricity Generating Public Company (EGCO Group), and Japan’s Sojitz Corporation.
Following the grid connection of its first turbine in 2021, the wind farm reached full operational capacity in January 2025. With the start of commercial operations, TotalEnergies has taken over responsibility for technical operations management, while Skyborn continues to provide other management services. Electricity generated by the project is sold to Taiwan Power Company under two 20-year power purchase agreements.
As of the end of 2024, Taiwan had an installed offshore wind capacity of 2.5 GW, with a target of reaching 5.7 GW by the end of 2025.
