17.6 bcm/year ADCC gas pipeline starts commercial operations in the US

Whistler Pipeline and Cheniere Energy have announced the start of commercial service of the ADCC pipeline, in which they own a 70% stake and a 30% stake, respectively. The approximately 70 km pipeline project has been designed to transport up to 1.7 bcf/d (17.6 bcm/year) of natural gas, expandable to 2.5 bcf/d (25.8 bcm/year). The gas is expected to transport natural gas to the Cheniere Corpus Christi Liquefaction facility from markets on Whistler Pipeline's Agua Dulce Header in the south of the US state of Texas, helping to reduce flared volumes in the Permian Basin and further support US LNG exports to global markets. Whistler Pipeline is a joint venture between WhiteWater (50.6%), MPLX LP (30.4%), and Enbridge (19%).

The US is the largest natural gas producer worldwide, with natural gas production increased by 4%/year since 2020, reaching an all-time high value of 1,084 bcm in 2023.
