Supporting the Southeast Asia Energy Transition Partnership with Data and Insights

The South-East Asia Energy Transition Partnership (ETP) is developing a thematic report on key aspects of the energy transition, providing actionable insights to help Southeast Asian countries integrate energy transition across various development themes. The organisation is supported by The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS). The report aims to make updated information and analysis accessible to a broader range of stakeholders, encouraging collaborative and informed action. The report will cover various aspects of the energy transition in Southeast Asia, including energy production and consumption, energy transition policies and targets, levels of GHG emissions, energy efficiency, green investments, and the penetration of clean technologies. A specific focus will be placed on three major countries in the region: Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam.

To realise this report, ETP relied on a structured approach to deliver the most accurate data. Asia Clean Energy Partners (ACE Partners), a Bangkok-based company, was then commissioned by ETP to bring local knowledge of the Southeast Asia energy sector, along with experience in clean energy policy design, energy finance, market analysis, and communications.

ACE Partners brought Enerdata into the project as a key partner, recognising its unique expertise in data analytics and clean technologies. Enerdata will deliver access to historical and forecast data from our robust suite of proprietary databases and tools. Our experts will also provide an analysis on the energy transition in Southeast Asia, current challenges, and prospects.

Our data and analysis will support ETP's thematic report and contribute to a deeper understanding of the region’s energy transition progress and the exploration of new pathways to accelerate national and regional efforts toward low-carbon energy systems.
