Enerdata is assisting the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME) in developing energy transition scenarios for France; one “with existing measures”, and another “with additional measures”.
The MedPro model is used to forecast final energy consumption in France by sector, end-use and energy. Prospective energy balances and monitoring indicators are also produced to assess these new scenarios.
The scenarios will be used by the Directorate General for Energy and Climate (DGEC), part of the Ministry for an Ecological and Solidary Transition, to write France’s mandatory reports to the European institutions and the United Nations, as well as to prepare the documents for the French 2019 energy program: the multiannual energy plan (PPE) and the national low-carbon strategy (SNBC). They will show the measures taken and planned to reach the energy efficiency and greenhouse gas emission targets (SNBC), and the intended evolution of the energy supply (PPE).
