- Representatives from over 40 companies and organisations shared their expertise in the energy sector.
To provide you with the key takeaways from the round-tables, here are the essential insights to remember:
- Moving from intention to action: Quality data as a catalyst for sustainable finance
- Quality data exists to implement or evaluate transition plans and align financial portfolios. However, it is heterogeneous, coming from public sources, suppliers, financial players themselves, and open-source initiatives. The challenge lies in navigating, qualifying and using this data effectively.
- For specific applications like the developing and implementing decarbonisation measures within specific sectors, data is scarce. There exists the potential to adapt and improve data provided to financial players to better align with their needs.
- Energy and other planetary resources: Governing scarcity
- Scarcity of global resources are a systemic issue in decarbonisation.
- Effective dialogue between stakeholders is crucial to identify key drivers, obstacles, and ensure everyone’s on board.
- Sharing both positive and negative experiences and outcomes is essential for progress.
- The industrial world will experience new business models through testing innovative remuneration methods. This raises a fundamental question: how to maintain a revenue stream (despite potential volume reduction) and fair profit sharing between customers, citizens, and businesses.
The event concluded with a networking lunch, facilitating further discussions amongst attendees.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Institute Louis Bachelier for hosting this event on their premises and facilitating the round-table discussion on sustainable finance.
