Enerdata selected to provide the UK BEIS Department with emissions scenarios and MACC

Enerdata is launching a new project this month to provide the UK Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) with Business As Usual (BAU) emissions scenarios and Marginal Abatement Cost Curves (MACCs). Since 2007, the UK ministry in charge of energy has commissioned Enerdata to produce such data to update two internal models of the ministry.

A first set of data will be produced for BEIS's Global Carbon Finance (GLOCAF) model, used in particular to assess impacts of global climate action on the costs and carbon market flows associated the implementation of NDCs under the Paris Agreement.

In a second phase, Enerdata will assist BEIS in updating essential input data of their Carbon Price Model (BCPM), which is used to estimate future carbon prices of the EU-ETS to be used in policy appraisal and modelling work.
