Enerdata is working with ENERCAL – the TSO (transmission system operator) in New Caledonia – to elaborate electricity demand forecasts through 2040, as well as associated load curves.
As a remote island territory, New Caledonia is not interconnected with other electricity grids, which means the power system manager faces significant challenges. Electricity demand is growing steadily, and three-quarters of demand currently comes from industry.
ENERCAL will use the results of the Enerdata study to create a Transmission Network Development Plan for New Caledonia and to elaborate the basis of the next multiyear investment plan.
