17 Jun 2019

The government of Vietnam has approved a site survey license for an up to 3,400 MW offshore wind project at Ke Ga Cape, off Binh Thuan province in the south of Vietnam. The project, developed by Enterprize Energy Group, would be developed in phases. The first phase, of around 600 MW, would include 64 turbines rated 9.5 MW each and could be connected to the domestic power grid in late 2022 or early 2023. Four additional 600 MW stages would be developed between 2023 and 2026, and a 400 MW final phase would be later installed. Total investment is estimated at US$11.9bn.
