Israel's Econergy plans 800 MW of storage and 900 MW of solar PV in the UK

The Israeli renewables company Econergy has acquired Swangate Energy Storage, a 50 MW/100 MWh storage project located in Yorkshire, Northern England (United Kingdom) from Yoo Energy. The Swangate project has received the necessary permits for development, including approval for grid connection. Construction is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2022 and commissioning is scheduled in early 2023. The project is part of a broader pipeline of projects, including more than 800 MW/1,600 MWh of storage and 900 MW of solar PV in the United Kingdom by 2025.
