GE to supply turbines to 1.8 GW Guernsey CCGT power project (US)
Caithness Energy and Apex Power Group have selected GE as the equipment provider for the 1,875 MW natural gas-fired CCGT power plant in Guernsey County, Ohio (US). GE will provide its 7HA.02 gas turbines, heat recovery steam generators, steam turbines, its Asset Performance Management (APM) software and managed services. The project is scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2022.
At end-August 2019 Caithness Energy secured financing for the US$1.6bn project. The power plant is located in the neighbourhood of the Utica and Marcellus shale gas development area in eastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania and is likely to use this resource to run its operations.
