Crude Oil Production
Oil supplies are covered by imports. North Macedonia ended crude oil imports in 2013, when the 50 000 bbl/d OKTA refinery was shut down. Since 2011, oil products have been free from custom duties, leading to a 55% surge in 2012, to 1 Mt; they increased until 2016 (1.2 Mt) and declined until 2018 (-0.7% to 1.1 Mt in 2018). According to preliminary statistics, they grew by 13% to 1.2 Mt in 2019.

Renewable in % Electricity Production
In 2017, North Macedonia amended its National Renewable Action Plan (NREAP) (2015), setting a target of 24% of renewables in final energy consumption in 2020 (18% achieved in 2018), including 27% for electricity (25% in 2018), 30% for heating (32% in 2018), and 10% for transport (less than 1% in 2018).

CO2 Fuel Combustion/CO2 Emissions
North Macedonia's Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) aims to cut CO2 emissions from fossil fuel combustion by 30% to 36% by 2030 compared to a BAU scenario; this would limit the growth in CO2 emissions to a range of 31-20%.
Energy-related CO2 emissions decreased by 3.8%/year on average until 2018 to 7 MtCO2 (-6.8% in 2018 alone because higher hydropower generation reduced coal-fired power generation); they were quite stable between 2000 and 2011, at around 9 MtCO2.
