Mexico's CFE plans US$2.8bn power plants and gas pipeline tender

Mexican national power utility CFE plans to offer US$2.8bn in energy projects by the end of the year 2014: the projects would include two CCGT power plants, namely the 928 MW Norte III plant near Ciudad Juarez (investment estimated at US$1bn) and the 714 MW Guaymas II plant in the Sonora state (US$822m), a 432-km transmission power transmission line between Huasteca and Monterrey and two gas pipeline projects.

The winning bids for this gas pipeline and for the two power plants will be announced in December 2014. The winner for the Encino-La Laguna gas pipeline will be announced in October 2014 and that of the transmission line in November 2014.
