GDF SUEZ (France) commissioned 4.3 GW in 2014 and reached 115 GW

GDF SUEZ has released its 2014 results. The French energy group commissioned 4.3 GW of new power capacity in 2014, including 1.9 GW in Europe

(two 731 MW USC coal-fired power plants commissioned in the Netherlands and Germany), 1.7 GW in Latin America (nearly 1.6 GW at the Jirau dam in Brazil), 682 MW in Africa and Asia (301 MW Tarfaya wind park in Morocco and 381 MW Uch-2 in Pakistan) and 32 MW in North America. The group reached a total capacity of 115.3 GW in 2014 (fully consolidated), including 19 GW of renewables (10.4 GW of net ownership), or 71.5 GW in net ownership. The group's subsidiaries generated a total of 470 TWh (280 TWh of net ownership) in 2014, with about 80% of this amount with low CO2 emissions (renewables and nuclear).

In 2014, the group had a balanced gas supply portfolio of 1,296 TWh with 555 TWh of long-term gas supply (30% LNG). The group sold 739 TWh on non-regulated market, 372 TWh to power plants worldwide, and 171 TWh to the French regulated market.
