The Ministry of Energy and Mines of Argentina has awarded 30 renewable projects totalling 1,281 MW at an average price of US$54/MWh, in the RenovAr Ronda 1.5 renewable energy round.
Wind projects have attracted 19 bids with a total capacity of 1,561 MW and 10 were selected, with a combined capacity of 765 MW, at an average price of US$53.34/MWh. Among the winners, Isolux won two projects, the 100 MW Loma Blanca 6 project in the Chubut province and the 98 MW Miramar project in Buenos Aires, while SinoHydro won the 100 MW Pampa project in the Buenos Aires province.
Nine solar projects totalling 394 MW were proposed in the Noroeste Argentino and 19 other projects (531 MW) were proposed in the rest of the country, for a total capacity of 925 MW. Twenty solar projects were selected, for a total capacity of 516 MW at an average price of US$54.94/MWh. Isolux won an 80 MW Cafayate solar park in Salta, while Empresa Mendocina de Energias won 6 projects totalling 94 MW in the Mendoza province and Jinko Solar an 80 MW solar park in San Juan.
