Energy consumption 2004 estimate for the USA

Enerdata presents its first estimates for energy consumption in the USA for 2004: 1,6% growth (significantly lower than the GNP growth of 4,4%). Since 2002, the pace of energy growth is 3 times less rapid than GNP.
The electricity consumption also increases slowly (1,6% in 2004 and 1,4%/year on average over the last 3 years). The share of oil and coal in the total consumption remain stable (40% & 24% respectively), as well as gas's share (22%). the net oil imports amount for 26,5% of the total energy consumption of the country (26% in 2003).
